I'm afraid that's very much true. Gas prices will only continue to rise as the demand for oil continues to grow across the world. A few years from now, we'll be thinking about $4 USD as being the good old days, unfortunately.

I seriously believe that we're approaching the end of the Oil Age. There's probably only enough oil left to sustain world demand for another century, but as the oil supplies begin to dwindle, the price per barrel will shoot exponentially.

Now will be a good time to start looking at old-fashioned bicycles, IMO...

Good point. Must be H*ll on you brits, considering that you can drive from one end of your country to the other in a day. With us, it could take three or four days to get from east to west coast. The gas price spike is not just an inconnvience, it's a curtailing of our freedom.

Yeah, prices over there are pretty insane. Which just seems to make shows like your "Top Gear" seem all the more out of touch. These guys should be trying to find the most gas effiient vehicles, not the latest "penis cars" to suck up gas with, that no one but the uber rich could possibly afford.
