It could work, but yu also want to make sure the scale of the mountain doesn't interfere with the scale of hte ship.

Or have the Paramount moutain morph into mount Selaya, pan past a city, then into a home were old Spock sits.

lol I'd love to see the E at the very start, but that other person was right: this is the Enterprise's big comeback, they are going to reveal her dramatically (or at least they better).

But.... just because she's not in the logo doesn't mean other SF vessels couldn't be.... right?

well, I do have one sort of off-the-wall idea, but it hinges on the Enterprise being revealed at the very beginning of the movie, which I think is highly doubtful. (it would be more logical for them to start with their baby-kirk and baby-spock scenes, wouldn't it?)

But if she is shown in the beginning, then I envision several shuttlecraft and workerbees flying about the Paramount mountain busily. The camera focuses on one and follows it either to behind or at the base of the mountain, where we see..... you guessed it! The Big E in all her glory, about to be launched from her shipyard.

I know I know, that idea totally sucks. Personally I'm with the people hoping she is at least assembled in space (actually I'm officially in the 'it really shouldn't matter' camp) but I think we have to at least be prepared for the possibility that she is completely built on Earth... whether we like it or not.

Yes an opening flyby sequence would be very cool, but if you havent seen the teaser trailer, the Enterprise isnt even built yet. Therefore, how can an unfinished ship flyby in the very beggining?

Paramount Logo... fades into THE SAME SHOT used in 'I.J & T H G'... right down to a group of Boy Scouts at the bottom of the pinacle, talking about 'everyday' things. (i.e., 'Geez, My Mom just got a 'replicator', and the chicken soup it makes tastes like...)

THEN a shuttle 'shoots' over the peak, the camera PANS upwards... then a CUT to the INT. of the SHUTTLE, with (young) Kirk saying: "...taste's like..."

Other character in shuttle interrupts, pointing - 'There she is...!'

CUT TO... EXT., Enterprise....

Not so crazy. I think what we see in the teaser is not what will be in the film.

But we have to start in the future soemwhere. I belive it may start later than the TNG era. This would fit in with an older Nimoy. Maybe the Enterprise F? Commanded by who knows?
