Fair enough.

Hey, are federation starships made up entirely of officers? Are there any crew people who didn't go to starfleet academy?

just curious.

I want to see some unis for those academy days though...

I agree, though the DS9 unis were very workman-like intentionally, but i guess got more militaryesque as the show progressed...

I believe they're called Warrant Officers, people that haven't attended Star Fleet Academy

I always thought that the uniforms in Star Trek The Motion Picture we're pretty spot on for a utopian society. I really, really did not like the uniforms in the subsequent TMP movies. I was not a fan of the original TNG jumpsuit uniforms, but could tolerate the later TNG ones.

If in Star Trek 0 they are headed for something more formal with neutral tones then I am all for that. While the whole blue shirt, red shirt, gold shirt is pretty integral to Trek, I thought Enterprise handled it well in a way that was consistent with the idea but believable in its execution.

According to those who've seen the prototype movie figures the uniforms look very much like their TOS counterparts, which can only be a good thing.

Someone who has seen prototypes of the Playmates action figures has said they are not that unlike the TOS uniforms.

Really looking forward to the first in-uniform Quinto and Pine shots.
