Are you kidding me? Of course she would.

First there would be panels and debates and studies about how the Voyager ended up in the Delta Quadrant, why, and how this can be prevented from happening again. This would need Janeway to spend at least two years whith questionings and paper stuff.

Then there would be questions about each and every little incident on Voyagers loooooong journey. Another two years.

At the very end there would be an inquiry about altering the timeline. Another two years.

Janeway should be round about 89 years old before interest in her voyages would fade away. But even then she would be invited at this university, that scientific panel, this Starfleet symposium, not to mention all the calls she would get from journalists and book authors for the rest of her life.

There would be articles questioning her decisions, accusing her of working together with terrorists (the maquis), etc. etc. yadda, yadda.

The whole package, I guess.

PS: Not to mention how much time she would have to spend in explaining every shuttle crash. That all alone should take her a few years.

I think she would as well.

However, after Starfleet had the chance to review everything they went through, I am sure most of the stuff the crew did , that was wrong, would be forgiven. I mean, they did single handedly destroy the Borg.

And the Moque(never could spell that right) were forgiven during season 4, so they would be OK.

Maquis did indeed get amnisty in season 4. I doubt they destoryed the Borg, incovienced them for a time, yes. But it seems the Queen has personas in alot of places.

So you think they'd "punish" her with a promition? Just joking.

I oftem wondered if Janeway would have to go to bat for 7 to keep Starfleet from cuting her apart for technological ideas?

If there would be a board, I don't think it would have taken so long. Remember, she send starfleet recent updates of tehre progress every month or so. That is after they got back in contact with them. Starfleet would have ahd some time to analyse al the data.

I think they did punish her with a promotion anyhow. remember what Kirk said in Generations? "dont'let them promote you, while you are there you can make a difference"

Eddington in DS9 said the same " people go to starfleet not to become admirals or commanders, its the captaisn chair they are after"

But by the 24th century, looks like they let Admirals have a more active role and not be "desk jockeys."

I think the fact they did take the borg out of the picture, potentially permanently likely is the reason Janeway was promoted instead of charge with violating the Prime Directive.
