Default Dangling threads.

Okay, what are some of the unresolved possible storylines in Trek, that might make a good jump off point for other stories? I know that the fan story collections "New Voyages?" have been working on a few interesting lines... I remember one that picked up what happened to Cyrano Jones after he finished cleaning out the Tribbles from K-7, and another that told a sort of "prequel" to the "Menagerie" with a slice of Captain Pike's life before Spock came to take him back to Talos IV... but what other storylines do you think would be cool?

Personally, I've always wondered about Mr. Riley, heading off with Baylock in "The Corbomite Manuver." What was the Fisrt Federation like? When he came back, how would that have changed the power balance in UFP space?

Or maybe more stories about the Gaurdian of Forever...

Or a story about the great "Klingon/Tribble" conflict...

Think it over, I'd love to hear some of your ideas...

Dangling Threads…

Definitely a great idea! One of the reasons Wrath of Khan was such a good story was it played directly off a thread left dangling in the series.

Charlie X has a couple of dangling threads. Yet another seemingly omnipotent race with which Humans could really stand to make contact and, to top is off, a human among them.

Where No Man Has Gone Before offered us another reality, on the border of our galaxy, in which some humans developed super human powers. Dr. Dehner makes the comment: “A mutated superior man could also be a wonderful thing. The forerunner of a new and better kind of human being.” Obviously, someone reading Kirk’s reports of the mission could come to the same conclusion.

The kids on Miri’s planet eventually had to grow up….perhaps leave the planet, join Star Fleet.

Obviously, we should establish some sort of relationship with The Gorn.

What became of Jaime Finney?

What of the colonists “rescued” from Omicron Seti Three? Did the “repairs” to their bodies stick? Or did the suddenly start to fall apart as all their old illnesses and injuries reappeared? Similarly, what was the effect on the crew? They all beamed down. Were they all “cured” of whatever ailed them?

Omicron Seti III really should have been established as a hospital planet, after finding a way to protect yourself from the spores side effects...

I've always wondered why the Organians never stepped in to stop the Borg. Compared to the Federation/Klingon conflict, that would have rated high on their "disruptive violence" outlook.

What do you suppose Trelane (Squite of Gothos) was like after he grew up?

Yeah, there is a lot of theorizing that Trelane is a young Q. Even without that, eventually one supposes Trelane would be deemed "grown up" and allowed on his own...might he not hunt down the "one that got away"?
