A great actor, a Hollywood legend. Bigger than life. I feel a great sense of lost this morning.

Rest easy Mr. Heston. You gave us so much.

Yeah I agree with NCC... it's too bad that such a great actor turned into such a jerk later in life.

But to me, he'll always be Moses, and Taylor.

A jerk in life?? Where do you get that? He stood up for what he believed in.
He took defense of conservatives values. He stood up for your 2nd admendment rights.

Yeah... leading a pro NRA rally in Denver a week after the Columbine massacre... 13 students dead, 1 teacher. Whole damn state in mourning. He wouldn't even CONSIDER posponing it. Stood up in front of a crowd of gun nuts and told them that that they could take his gun from his cold dead hand. (Maybe he thought the Apes were coming for us.) Yeah, that's a great guy alright.

I'm taking a guess that CaptRay listens to Limbaugh... a lot.

The Horror in Columbine was a tragedy I pray for those victims. And I agree that NRA rally could have been postponed.


I just believe that the 2nd admendment is our right, just like the all the rest.
When that right is taken away, whats gonna stop them there. How about that 1st admendment. Bet alot would stand up for that one. I have guns in my house. I have knowlege on how to use them. I will teach my kids how to respect guns. I know with the right to own guns comes responsibility. Just like the freedom or speech.
And actually never even heard a whole Limbaugh show, Hannity is more to my liking.

I remember him in Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments more than anything else. A great actor, had one hell of a presence on the screen.

I didn't agree with his politics, but I met him briefly once at an anniversary screening of the original PLANET OF THE APES. I think this wasn't long before he announced his illness, but he seemed genial enough.

I have no doubt his body of film work will long outlive memories of his politics, and he'll deserve those longterm honors well.

I would like to remember him as a good actor, and a man who stood behind Martain Luther King Jr. in the 1963 civil rights rallies.

MissionTrek, I'm with you.

I prefer to to remember Heston for his body of work instead of his political views. And, it was his right to have those views. Heston was the icon of the golden age of Hollywood. Not many are left.

I found an old VHS tape of "Skyjacked" and played it this morning. I remember the first time ever seeing the movie. It was 1972.
