It was interesting, i liked it. At the time implants were thought of in a completely different way than we think about them now. Our artificial limbs have improved somewhat, probably partly due to Steve Austin. The sound he made when he jumped isn't something i'll probably ever forget. But as it turns out, artificial limbs and medical implants, don't make us supermen. So even though a lot of the show's technology did become possible, it's benefits were highly exaggerrated.

True, I am sure it has because of the show and the current "Bionic Woman" program.

I wish I had the sound files for the running and jumping.

I loved, as goofy as it was, when he fought Bigfoot!

It was very fun to watch when i was younger. I almost hate to admit it but i used to have the 12" inch action figure of him with the removable implants. You could roll the skin up on his arm and legs and take out the implants. It was a cool toy when i was a kid. That, and my Evel Kneivel stunt cycle and Hot Wheels Sizzlers were the hit of the neigborhood.

Oh same here. had the capsule that turnned into the Bionic repair center too!

No, this is a freind's actually. Wish I still had mine, and my Planet Of The Apes treehouse and figures (from the TV show.)

The show was a favorite of mine during high school. I read Martin Caidin's novel "Cyborg" from which the series was based. While I ejoyed the first movie, the subsequent movies "Wine, Women and War" and the "Solid Gold Kdnapping" played too much like James Bond.

Thankfully, they made it a series. I remember watching the first episode entitled "Population: Zero" where this frustrated scientist used a hyper-sound device against Steve’s hometown. He discovered bionic’s vulnerability for extreme cold and locked Steve inside a freezer container. Steve broke out and then staggered through the desert until his bionics warmed up.

I ran track in high school and I’ll always remember Lee Major’s slow-mo run to save the day. What a great stride he had. He ripped up the pole from the ground, carried in on his shoulder and then threw it like a javelin. Big explosion, cheers all round.
Some time ago I heard they were going to re-make $6mill and Jim Carrey would star as Steve Austin. Thank God that went away. Last year the "Bionic Woman" seemed promising but it too was short lived.
