Perhaps Sir Anthony meant ST.com?

If you do mean st.com, it isn't owned by Paramount any more. They split up Trek, Paramount got the movies, CBS got pretty much everything else including st.com. Thus Paramount needed its own site for ST:XI.

Still CBS should have kept ST.com up and running. It was one of my favorite sites for ST News!

And I miss the adventures of The Trek Life with Carl and Kate and the gang.

The site is still up, just not updated.
Some say their is nothing to update, but I say with 5 live action series and 1 animated series their is plenty to showcase on a regular basis in the website. |

There's no arguing that the transition was poorly planned and handled, since it's rather embarrassing for such a prominent destination site to suddenly 'freeze' and sit un-updated for months simply because a replacement crew was not ready to take over for those previous runners who got sacked (rather unceremoniously).
The situation at ST.com would be more unforgivable had the new film not been delayed to a 2009 release. This gives CBS more time to finally reboot ST.com to at least support the film 'on the side' if not as a direct part of Paramount. Unless they plan to disenfranchise the site from the new film entirely? That would be most unfortunate for franchise 'unity'. The only 'logical' reason I can think of for ST.com's inactivity is that perhaps CBS plans to rework the entire site to their own design, and they will reboot it when that new design rolls out. Invest in the site's future rather than its past, as it were. Well, a fan can hope there's a good reason!
