Default Article - 'Trek's' new Scotty staying true to role

Quote:
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Simon Pegg won't be beaming up any differences for his take on starship Enterprise's chief engineer "Scotty" in the upcoming "Star Trek" film.

"I am playing 'Scotty,' but James Doohan is 'Scotty,' " Pegg told The Associated Press at the "Run Fatboy Run" premiere afterparty at Les Deux nightclub Monday night.

So cool! When I first heard of Pegg's casting it struck me as so very wrong. Now I'm feeling like it was one of the better casting choices. Its good to feel that way.

Thanks for the news
Looks like Simon has become Abrams best spokesperson and publicity man. I seem to remember they tried to hide him from public for a quite a while. Don't you know, you just can't keep a Peggster down. lol So now he's advertising the movie better than anybody else. Why not? He's a people person and he is going to be a great Scotty. I can almost visualize him sitting in my favourite pub, Scotties (no joke) in Meadowbank, Edinburgh (yes Scotland) opposite of the Nuchem Chemists Shop and sip his ale while the pensioned Royal Scots soldier in the corner is playing on his harmonica (they took the bagpipe away from him)
Aye, he feels good. He's right for the part.

That sounds good. You should do that. You'll have to see the highlands. Riding along the coast from Edinburgh to Aberdeen is a beautiful trip and then right into the heart of the highlands. Never forget to make a stop at Inverness. I love Inverness. I'll be in Scotties waiting for you and your bonny to share a cold draft. Ahhhh And after that we meet in Vienna and I'll introduce you real good lager

And since we're talking beer now don't let me forget to show you Prague - they have good lager as well.
