Thus far, any negative reactions toward this movie seem to be:

The Supersuit - Really? The movie got rid of Superman's red exo-underwear, and that's what's making you mad? Come on... Or hopefully it's just the little designer, texture patterns on the suit. That... I might see people having a problem with. But as iconic as the red undies are, I'm really not going to miss them.

I'm right there with you, MR. On Superman, the red "fruit o' the looms" just aren't necessary. I'm not quite as fanboyish about superheroes as I am superheroines.

Now, Wonder Woman, she doesn't need covered up like they tried to do fairly recently. Her traditional red, white, blue, and gold, T&A outfit is the only outfit she needs. Having recently watched the unsold Wonder Woman pilot with Adrienne Palicki in the title role (and she made a damn good lookin' Wonder Woman), I was very happy to see her in the more traditional outfit at the end of the pilot...which gave me hope (sadly) for a series that was not to be.

I guess I do have some reservations about the film (notwithstanding that I still don't think Singer's film was that bad).

I'm unclear if Nolan's influence will be a positive or a negative, out of Snyder's CV I only really like Watchmen and I'm not convinced that Cavill is a strong actor having seen him in a few films recently. Which sounds like a lot..............but I also really liked the trailer.

I'm definitely going to see it though.

I liked Superman Returns. I didn't think it was a bad film at all...a few rough spots, but nothing that detracted from enjoying it, especially on the big screen.

God, yes, I can openly state that I actually liked Superman Returns.

Although this movie here... I'm gonna say that at least with the trailer (so I'll reserve final judgement till later) does look like it'll kick Superman Returns ***.

Really, I did like Superman Returns, but they really should have gone with a reboot rather than a sequel.

Had it not been for Superman Returns (which did so-so at the box office, if I recall correctly), there might not've been a Man of Steel reboot.

I will agree with a friend of mine at another forum that Brandon Routh got a raw deal out of this. I thought he did a bang up job carrying Chris Reeves' torch as Superman, and that there were no follow up movies allowing Routh to continue to be everyone's favorite Boy Scout in a cape is sad. He was given the blessing of Reeves' family to portray Clark Kent/Superman.

But, all told, I am stoked to see this movie....but not near as stoked as I am for Star Trek Into Darkness.

I really liked the scene where the young Clark questions his father as to whether or not he should have just left the kids on that bus to die, and his father answered "maybe". This movie might actually really explore what it would be like to be such an alien living on Earth, and what that must be like for the human father trying to raise him and keep him safe. I have some hope that this might be a good movie.
