Of course I did the first thing I could think of which was to go to memory-alpha.org and search for John Harrison. The closest is a recurring crewman named Harrison during the first season of TOS. Why make such a big deal about hiding the identity of the villian if he's a new character? Maybe more misdirection by Abrams the Puppeteer?

Another thought:

Why does it have to be a TWOK reboot? Why not a "Space Seed" reboot? This time frame is closer to TOS than TWOK, so maybe this is Abram's way of tinkering with the alternate timeline method again (familiar but not familiar).

Its not an exact reboot of TWOK if at all. Some of the names may be the same, but that's where it ends… this will be like nothing we've seen before.

For any kind of WoK remake, Khan would have to have spent some time on Ceti Alpha V after the orbit was shifted, leading to his wife's death... so not in that decade.

Hmm… What if Khan already had a wife with him on board the Botany Bay and she died during the attempt to take over the Enterprise… and he never met McGivers.

Kirk and Spock both fghting man to man with Harrison.

Uhura crying while being held by a shocked Scotty.
