These pics are snapshoots from the sets and they are around for some weeks now. But timing aside ...

... they're great and he has captured me right away and I'm a huge Nimoy/Spock Fan.

I think theses pics are taken between shots, after or before ...

... shadow
... no makeup (ears, vague eyebrows)
... knitted "thing" over definit vulkan or costume neck which peeks through
... laughing and obscure background

There were other pics, where one could see him talking with J.J. and other where he crosses the street between shots. In some cases one could think you watch "behind the scenes '66"

It's amazing and the best casting I could have wished for. Go Quinto ... an you will have Nimoy by your side.

I thought the same thing. He is a perfect match and I think he will be able to pull off the part quite well.

See to me he doesnt look like a young Nimoy as Spock. he definately looks like a Vulcan...but a generic one and pretty much anyone who works with a makeup artist, puts on the ears, and shapes their eyebrows can look like a vulcan.

Of course, the younger Spocks on the Genesis planet in TSFS didnt look like a young Nimoy either...so i guess it's nothing new.

All I can say is I hope Quinto works on his voice for Spock...as the soft/effeminate (?sp) way he talks as Sylar in Heroes just wouldnt cut it as Spock. Spock has a deep/commanding and confident sounding voice...Sylar sounds like he was the kid who got picked on in school and never grew out of it.
