Star Trek Returns, Star Trek Revisited... these guys could do a lot better than that (and they probably have) on their list.

Hell, two of the TNG films didn't even have colons in them. And one was actually a pretty clever (as in ST-appropriate) title, if only the script measured up.

I'd go with Star Trek: Just go see it, you know you want to!

I'm not at this point surprised Cumberbatch is canon. The wind has been blowing that way for a while now.

Eve - it seems you have probably four main candidates out of the obvious: Carol Marcus, Elizabeth Dehner, Marla McGivers (redhead in TOS but doesn't need to be here) or Christine Chapel. But others do exist, of course.

We might be getting close to the point where spoilers become unavoidable if we do not disengage.

I suppose it depends on who she is.

If she was playing, for instance, Chapel, then I would find that unlikely to be a plot specific spoiler probably and it could likely be revealed without giving away anything else.

IF, however, her identity is inextricably tied to who Cumberbatch is playing and revealing one almost certainly gives away the other, then probably they will sit on it until they are ready to finally confirm who he is playing first.

They might do it differently but I think if I wanted to protect the secret of who he is, I would not confirm prior to that another character that would give it away.

Meh, they said the same thing about Countdown. And I still don't consider that canon. I probably won't consider this stuff canon either.
