There's still the better part of a year before the film comes out so I don't expect them to start revealing anything factual on purpose until a little closer.

That isn't treating fans like crap, that's merely not pandering to some fans desperate attempts to know everything before the makers are ready to reveal. The one thing of note for me is solely that Eve is a canon character, whereas I had thought she was playing a new character.

I also doubt Urban strategically lied, because Star Trek was never supposed to have a presence at Comic-Con this year anyway. He may have been under some notion of an intention that there could be a surprise reveal, and maybe that simply didn't pan out in time.

Pegg is the one who will have a harder time after he specifically denied Khan.

I'd like nothing better than to have nothing revealed at all, but there is a lot of nonsense going on with the Stars speaking out of turn or claiming this and that. These guys don't really give a damn about Trek, just the paycheck at the end of the day. Simple as that, and hey I don't give a damn about them either, as long as they earn every dollar by delivering something that's worthwhile to see.

There's a lot of nonsense goes on with fans as well, who often are worse. I've seen the barrage of questions they keep getting asked by them (and have been for years now) over and over that would potentially act as spoilers that have to be repeatedly deflected. Even just reading that interview the person was determined to get something out of him.

I'm reminded of the time I first met James Doohan (at my very first sci-fi convention). I asked him if there would be any space battles in Star Trek VI, and he said: "I'm not gonna tell you if there are any space battles in Star Trek VI." LOL!
