I still hold to my belief that he was left out because everyone knew he wouldn't be cool enough for the reboot.

I would like to see the scene that Shat was supposed to do in ST2009 somehow incorporated into ST2013.

It may have been a bit on the corny side, but it would show Kirk the extent of what his and Spock's friendship should become in the new timeline.

I dunno, it seems like something that would have fitted the last film slightly better but I think it's an idea that's time has passed. Just my feelings.

To be fair, as I understood the planned scene I was never big on the idea anyway.
