I can see the Klingons wanting a RED MATTER weapon. I can also see RED MATTER being involved somehow with KHAN's plans. Nero was captured by the Klingons, could not Khan have also been captured by the Klingons and that's where he learned about RED MATTER?

Exactly, a long shot maybe, but that scene could take place in the RED MATTER universe or on a RED MATTER prototype planet, a RED MATTER Genesis device perhaps? Fun to speculate.

Of course you can use red background and red notes here and there but one pice in your composition out of shrill red is something you always wanna think twice about. It rarely works together with your usual colour palette.
