Will Red Matter feature in the new movie?
In my opinion, I don't think the writers are done with that angle yet and I think it will be the genesis behind the story-line.

I think they are done with it. Old Spock brought it all from the future, Young Spock crashed it all into the Narada.

Can't see it to be honest. It suited the purposes of the last film nicely, on that front I was pleased they didn't go into the technobabble too much and make it any more contrived.

Yeah, it's a one-time substance deal like Proto-matter that was used to cover some aspects and make certain things happen but in and of itself shouldn't be needed again.
Plus it was all used up when it destroyed the Narada.

Considering that this is J.J. first sequel he directed, I would in now way be surprised if Red Matter were featured in the film.

I don't expect to see Red Matter, but there will be a red ball in there somewhere. Abrams always puts a red ball in his projects somewhere.
