I'm going to try to catch it tomorrow before work. I still haven't read any reviews of it.

I'm curious, is it 'recognizably' Whedon in any way (assuming there's a spoiler-free way to answer)?

Most definitely in the dialogue and the humour. There are a couple of bits I found side splitting but without upsetting the balance of treating the silliness of it all just seriously enough to work. There's a simple but great one liner for Thor.

Saw it again and the thread title seems firm and...grounded.

May I pipe in at this point with my agreement as to the sentiments expressed towards "The Avengers Assemble"?

'Twas fantastic. Dialogue, characters, all of it.

And here is my version of the list, of the ones I've seen:

The Avengers
Iron Man
Thor
Iron Man 2
Captain America

I liked Thor a lot more than anyone else seems to. I agree with most of the complaints against it, apart from Asgard looking bad. I really loved the look Asgard had! I thought it was perfectly suited to those who considered themselves godlike, all huge towering structures and gold and shiny - it looked Ace! The casting and characters was really good, and the main thing wrong with it was the binary switch of Thor's sentiments towards other's. Aaaaand the Frost Giants were rubbish.

I loved the Thor movie. Thought it was great fun. I really didn't have a problem with any of the previous solo flicks.

And yes, Kevin, THOR's one liner is PRICELESS! LOL

Enjoyed them all. Have not seen AVENGERS yet.

Can't remember Thor's one-liner? Is that in THOR or the AVENGERS?
