I watched it. It was everything I expected.
That said, I don't see the point in remaking the episode, even if it were only to produce the script as originally written. The pace was slow, the acting amateurish. The inevitable comparisons to the TNG version will not be kind. In my opinion, P2 should stick to telling new stories. The producers would also do well to forget the agenda-driven storylines and concentrate on reaching a larger audience. I hated the new uniform variants. No jammies on the bridge, please. And for crying out loud, get a Spock with some shoulders.

I liked it. The production values that these guys are ableto employ are astonishing. I think the story showed that Deltans are a more subtle and interesting species than Betazoids, who were little more than one-note plot devices.
While I agree that some of the new stories were exceptional, I think the differences between this and the TNG episode were nice. Certainly playing up the bond between a Deltan parent and child made more sense than Troi's irrational behaviour in the TNG episode.
