So true! When he found out he was not to be Emissary he had no problem with it and was somewhat relieved. I guess I would be too if someone could take my place, but if that person did a horrible job, I would take over even if I really didn't want to. It's like being tired of driving all the time but once someone takes over and can't drive at all, you have to eventually come back in the seat. Well...not exactly the same thing but you get the idea.

It sums up the entire series.
