Default The ever-loveable Tricorder

Which Tricorders were your favorites?
Here's the list to choose from:

-TOS
-TMP
-TWOK
-TSFS
-TNG
-VOY/ First Contact
-Nemesis

Not the complete list, but the only ones I could think of.
My favorites are the ones from TMP, TNG, and Nemesis.

For me, it's the TNG tricorder from season three onwards (the one used in the first two seasons was slightly different).

Interesting thing about the TOS tricorder was that Leonard Nimoy usually held his with the front facing the camera instead of towards him. While that might made it more visually interesting to viewers (we get to see its buttons and stuff), it also meant that Spock usually was looking at his tricorder upside-down.

But for a genius-level Vulcan like Spock, that might not have been a problem...

VOY/FC. The Nemesis version was nothing else like a PADD in design. They even used the FC Tricorder in the engineering lab, so it is still in use.

Whenever the 4 wheels of a car are too much, and the 2 wheels of a motorbike are not enough... I tend to send out a trike-order (c) by me

I prefer the STV version the best. I had a prop reproduction of it and it was a nice piece. Too bad it wasn't shown very well during that movie since the phaser, communicator and tricorder were all really great designs that updated the originals very well.

I like the TNG ones. Nice and compact and I can fit one in my inside jacket pocket!

Falstaff,

WOW...

I didn't even know they HAD tricorders and communicators in Trek V!!!
WHY ARE THERE NO PICTURES!?!!!

Honestly, in all the movies after Trek III, I did not see any TOS tricorders OR communicators!!! Were they different in Trek IV and VI, as well? The same??
Good Lord, I am ashamed of my lack of knowledge!!!
