Watched it back in the 60's for a short time… our old black and white TV could never get Channel 2, ABC) very good… I used to laugh when someone bumped into a set and it would shake!

I remember watching TV that way. And then there was cable, and my young eyes witnessed the miracle of boobs on TV!

At least cable can get away with it............and apparently makes the most of it.

yep, I don't pay extra for the premium cable channels either. In a world of DVD's and downloadable content it's just a waste.

I don't pay for anything. I just go with the TV channels that air for free.
I find it's still overall cheaper to just buy TV series boxsets either when they come out or hit sale instead of the monthly cost of upgrading. Or borrow a friend's collection. Or rent them.

That's how I watched the Sopranos, DVD boxsets. The only problem was that I would have to go out of my way to avoid spoilers because the DVD would come out about 10 months after the season aired on HBO.

I do that with what in the US would be Network stuff as well.
This week I watched the whole first season of 'Modern Family' for the first time. Just before Christmas I borrowed season 1 of 'The Vampire Diaries' but didn't really like it. In fact, borrowing season 1 of 'Fringe' from the same friend is how I got into that show. Then I just started buying the season sets myself once I had liked the first lot.

I'm going to have to do that with Fringe. That's a show I always wanted to watch but I want to see it from the beginning.

I like it. I won't call it the best show ever made..............but I find it pretty enjoyable. Moreso from season 2 in all fairness when it starts to get into it's own thing and moves away from the slightly 'The X-Files' feel it had in season 1.
