And that's only the exterior. TMP, TWOK and TSFS use the exact same interior pieces for each movie. After that, the interiors were never the same as the previous movie.
TVH bridge was all white. Seemed a bit smaller too. And had seperate stations. On TFF, the bridge became really big and the stations seem to go all around the bridge. And then in TUC and G, they reused and redressed the TNG sets for all the interiors, including the bridge. (And some of the TNG sets are redressed TMP sets). Then with FC, I and N, they went back to using the same sets. Guess they thought the E-E would be around for a long time. But the TMP E is still my favorite of all the movies, followed by the E-E. |

ye Gods!
Does this mean that the original movie-dressed Enterprise CHANGED between the different movies? - when it was supposed to be the SAME ship!!!!!!!!!!! Doesn't that break.... *dramatic pause*...... CANON!..?!!!! ...and people are upset about ST: XI's ship changes.... *shakes head in disbelief* |

Well, the changes that took place with the refit sets during the first four movies were pretty minimal. Although later changes could be explained pretty easily so it's not hard to believe that it is the same ship.

That's correct.

The movies took place in several-year intervals. The changes could easily be explained by periodic upgrades and/or refits of systems as new technology became available. That explanation doesn't hold for STXi, however. |

It is a break in canon but it's not egregious.
It's not particularly important....it's a detail and it doesn't really matter. Change the whole ships...now that's a blatant canon violation.

Oh was it a canon violation that the ISS Enterprise looked differently?
