Green is a dead eugenicist, Khan is a deep-frozen augment.
But of course he can play a Paxton-like character. Nothing wrong with stories about genetical experimentation based on the fuzzy fictional history of Trek like in DS9 or ENT, a lot wrong with repeating previous stories.
Orci is not able or willing to write something which would fit into the former category and even if he were it would not fit the '150 million bucks stupid action blockbuster' template.

I hope for Weller's sake that unlike Bana his talent doesn't get wasted, that he actually gets some decent lines.

Yes, Weller is a fine actor. From what I understand he will be playing an older villain, which sounds great. I too hope that he has some decent lines.

So the truth spoken. Weller is quality, lets just hope it is less wasted this time. To hope for it to not be wasted at all is probably too much to expect given your point about 150 million bucks blockbuster, which I agree with.

Still, I suppose a quality guy gives a glimmer of hope. But so did Bana.

Well, Vulture http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment...quel-khan.html is still adamant that Khan is indeed the Villain in the new movie. Latino Review is also convinced the Khan is the baddie http://www.latinoreview.com/news/exc...r-trek-2-15528 .

So, whether we agree or not...Khan could very well be the Villain. While I think Del Toro is a GREAT actor, he doesn't look like Khan to me. Another actor who's name keeps getting thrown around for the part is Nester Carbinell, who I think LOOKS more like Khan and would be my pick for the role.
