I actually do think that some set out to make a bad movie, restaurants and poetry. I think Star Trek V is one of those films because you can see it from the beginning...Rock Creature? Really. It's the 80's they don't have that kinda tech so they have to know that this would look corny. I've heard some equally bad premises as well and considering well it starts..(in the arena of bad taste) is there really any wonder why it ends where it does on screen.

In a sense perhaps, but they know exactly what they are doing. Bubblegum pop has been around forever. And they know that the preteen girls will eat it up.

Why wouldn't you make yourself the Captain? I would make myself the Captain. I even made myself Captain with my screen name!
