INDEED. Never heard that before.
He was pretty handsome in his younger days too with this jet black hair then went this stark white that just added to his distinguished voice.

I think the New Adama is different but still good. The voice is still distinctive but instead of booming power its more subtle. It's not the voice it's his attitude, he talks in and undertone, he exudes control and authority as though he knows he doesn't need to BOOM to be heard.

Good choice.......

OK guys.......here is another distinctive voice.......though I will give you the nods on LG having a distinctive voice that could match JEJ's
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7K4jH7NqUw

He does have a certain ruggedness that could somewhat match nu-BSG's Adama, though there is no one else that has JO's total look and voice for BSG.

Shamelessly, this was really an opportunity to introduce Johnny Cash's music.......

I remember seeing that. That was awesome. One should be allowed to say something like that, and as bluntly as possible. If they're going to hate you for it anyway, you might as well give them reason.

For me that whole deal was her being "in character".

A good analysis. Because later in the show, she is actually sitting with Dirk Benedict (the original Starbuck) and they both talk and share a cigar (or fumarello, as it's called in the Galactica lexicon.)

Don't remember seeing Dirk Benedict in the show at all. What episode was that?

It was on a preview show on (then) Sci-Fi called "Battlestar Galactica: The Lowdown". It was a behind the scenes look at the pilot for the new show.

Promotional documentary. Aired on Sci-Fi Channel shortly before the miniseries. Check your DVD extras for it.

She was totally polite. She introduced herself, her character, and then offhandedly smiled "Deal with it" before continuing on. And why not? They offered her the job, she happily took it... 'deal with it' (like, when was the last time 'you' went job-hunting? ). The Dirk Benedict appearance was shortly after.

Is there anything substantial to the promotional after watching the series itself? Not really.

Ah… that explains it. Thank you for clarifying.
