Default Kirk, the Nexus and "Saving Captain Kirk"

Okay. Simply put. Do you think Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Chekov and Sulu could have saved Kirk from the Nexus? And should they have tried as they did with Spock in TSFS? Was the Nexus to hard to find or predict and could the remaining TOS members have simply jumped back in time or the future to save him?

Your thoughts… if you please…

Okay, that's possible.

But do you think Spock would have let it go at that?

Maybe not if he had something to go on, but he wasn't there so who knows what kind of reports he read on it or what second hand info he got.

I tend to think Spock would have pulled out all stops to save his friend and I would think even Scotty would have spent considerable time to understand the Nexus. After all, that's established in the bond between them. They wouldn't just walk away knowing there were ways to save him, even if it meant breaking a few rules to do it.

Well if they did that, then they couldn't get Picard and Kirk on screen together!

Yes, but, is there a "Nexus" in the nu-Trek Universe? The TOS/TNG Spock would have been around in the prime to have heard/studied the information as to what it was. He could therefore go "back" and save Vulcan...even prevented the alternate timeline caused by Nero's destruction of the Kelvin and still would have had time to return to the Nexus and possibly then save Shatner/Kirk and still made it back to the prime universe in time for supper to stop Nero from even going through the black hole in the first place, then going back to ignite the star before it went nova, saving Romulus. That is if the Nexus was multi-dimensional??????? ....... I would have personally tried to do the same with the Guardian, only this time ...now .......ugh, Owwwwwooooohhh! Now I have a headache!...lol

Yes, I think that Spock or one of the TOS bridge crew would have done all they could to save a living Kirk, or retrieve his body, if that were known, but "time/dimensional travel" for them to prevent his death? I doubt it. Slippery slope. Spock's condition from TWOK and TSFS was thrust upon them, without the need for time/dimensional travel to "correct" the problem that was shared by Spock and Bones. They did not prevent Spock's death, they just were able to see to it his (kantra?) was put back where it belonged.
As far as they knew, Kirk was dead and as in this deleted scene from "Generations" would have put it...

...all things must end...ladd...

Kirk DID return...alive...but he did regrettably die.
