Default My refit Enterprise...built in Blender, Rendered in iClone

Hi, folks,

Over the last three days, I've been monkeying around with Blender, taking a break from my Battlestar Galactica project and decided to try my hand at building the refit Constitution Class. She's not textured yet, although she does have a lot of independent glowing parts (impulse thrusters, warp emitters, photon torpedo launchers, etc).

I also have yet to add phaser banks, nav lights, etc. This is just where she's at so far. I hope you like.

All you need is textures, and it's perfect

Looks like it's coming along nicely...............obviously as you note, there's some more detailing to be done, but looks good.

Thank you most kindly, everyone.
Yes, I still have some hull detailing to do. Right now, I am doing the lettering, and surprisingly, it's coming along better than I expected...I was expecting the lettering to skew when I'd try to attach it to the saucer section, but so far, so good.

Great effort, look forward to seeing the finished version.

I've recently downloaded IClone but not yet used it, is it good?

Thank you.

iClone is really good (and it sounds like the next version will be even better). It's not a modeling app (although you can build simple props with it), but it is really good for character animation and creation. You can even use likenesses of people for the faces of characters. You can really do some impressive stuff with iClone.

To really round out your 3D animation experience, I would recommend puchasing 3DEXChange (also available from Reallusion...the developers of iClone) and download Blender (free modeling and animation app)

There is a great forum community for iClone and other Reallusion apps here:

http://forum.reallusion.com/default.aspx

I've even done a few sci-fi based tutorials there.
Check out the videos of some of the users there.....really impressive stuff.

Added on hull lettering to the saucer section.
Need to reposition the lettering in the lower aft of the saucer a little better, but it won't take much to do.
