Default Will Star Trek sequel make June 2012?

http://www.deadline.com/2011/05/can-...-in-13-months/

Although initially I felt it was still possible to get the film ready for Summer 2012 the window is narrowing.

There might be some truth in this.

The timeline to get a film of this size ready and the window for it is getting narrower and narrower.

The first film started shooting in Nov 2007 for an (originally) December 2008 release which is 13 months. But at that point they had a cast, script, director and all the various bells and whistles that needed to be set up.

At present, we're nearly in June already with not even any confirmation of a final shootable script, let alone casting, set construction etc. It certainly depends what the ACTUAL behind the scenes state of the project is though, but there have been rumblings among fandom that the June 2012 date is looking less likely.

Moving to December gives them more space and it's also becoming one of the more lucrative periods to release a film as well.

They would miss out on the July 4th Holiday, but Christmastime grosses COULD compensate for that.

Although, I can wait a few months if it results in something that isn't a rush-job.

I'm fine with it if they push it back. I'd rather they take their time if they need it and make a quality movie rather than rush to meet a deadline and come out with a piece of crap

They pushed the last one back, it wouldn't surprise me at all... like CaptTom said, quality over rushing it through.
