Default ...Really? End of Days?

*According to some random dude Harold Camping, the end of the world will take place today at 6pm PST...Wow...and just look at this picture to confirm the truth! Check out the Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_end_times_prediction It also states that Camping declared that "the world would end in September 1994."

**No offense for those of you who actually believe this. I would appreciate your counter arguments here.

I wonder if the Bible also 'guaranteed' the last one in 1994 as well..........................and if it fails to pass will any metaphorical refunds be given to those who believed in the guarantee?

First, it's obviously a lie. Revelation doesn't talk about dates.

Second, isn't it interesting that the end of the world is hailed as something awesome? If I believed in Christian eschatology I would be terribly frightened of Judgement Day.
So I think it makes more sense to view this from a broader perspective, in context with all these apocalyptical movies. Instead of changing something in the real world we prefer to phantasize about the end of the world and feel a relief when everything that's screwed up gets wiped away.

So yeah, it's easy to make funs of these folks while we do virtually the same when we watch movies like 2012 or The Day After Tomorrow.

Indeed, Horatio. The Bible does not give dates. It says something in there to the effect that no man (not even the Son of God) would know the day or the hour of the end.

Crackpots like this give Christianity, and people of faith, regardless of denomination, a bad name.
