Interesting to note, which I don't think the article did, that the laser pistols that Space Cowboy was hauling in "Battle Beyond the Stars" were the exact same laser pistols that were used in "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century".

And that was just one of the things that the Roger Corman production cannibalized for its movie.

And ironically, Battle Beyond the Stars is one of the most heavily cannibalized sci-fi movies ever made. Just watch "Space Raiders" or "Murder in Space" that came out shortly after that movie.

Isn't there another film out there somewhere that uses almost all the affects shots from it?

From the bad guys spaceship through to the good guys ships as well? I know there's at least one flick used all the bad guy's spaceship shots at least.

Yeah, Space Raiders, which came out in '84, used pretty much all the VFX footage from BBtS.

And Murder in Space was a made for cable miniseries that used the footage of the Malmori cruiser from BBtS as the main ship.
