st.com used to be a good place. Yeah, there were some resident spammers, but overall, the original admin team were fans, and the attention paid to keeping the site itself in top shape sometimes meant there wasn't as much time for them to monitor the boards, but it all worked out. Ever since CBS dumped the original team...the second team tried, but then they started using people who obviously had no sense of the Trek community, just followed a directive of "enforce the rules." It seems the last person who was admin before they closed the original site is in charge again, with a "ban first, ask questions never" attitude. Plus they've allowed people who were banned on the old site to continue to troll and gang report people they don't like. But they can't be dealt with...because the admin team needs "proof"...yet it seems they have no problem banning me if I post there. The site has been wonky ever since it went online last July, and the admin team seems to have no clue how to fix it completely. I certainly wouldn't recommend it to any fan new to Trek websites. Noobs are often targeted because the two troublemakers start thinking "it's a noob...it MUST be starbase63!!!"

It's in the STL Rules and Regulations, Saquist:

3) Use good judgement in what you post, both visually and verbally. We'd like to keep things to a PG-13 rating if possible, as in order to make this board grow, we will need to appeal to a wide age group. Check the boards first before posting to make sure there is not already an active topic on what you wish to discuss.

Our youngest member at present is 15, I believe. Overall, I don't believe there is anything on our boards that one wouldn't find on TV or your average PG movie.
