I'm not sure what to make of it, the visuals and all that are good, but little sense of how the story will go (Cuban Missile Crisis obviously not withstanding). Anyway, here it is.

Hmmm. Interesting. So, Professor-X was a faun...

Looks better than the previous two X-Men flicks.

I figured the mere absence of Wolverine would up it for you at least!

What have the babyfaces done to Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen ?

Yup, that's some pretty fancy CGI de-aging they've done on them!

![]() Seriously, the trailer looks fine for a prequel but why didn't they simply shoot more movies with Stewart and McKellen instead of doing the usual prequel and spin-off thing? Even when the story was mediocre, and I think it always was except in the second movie, these two grand actors always made it watchable. It's not like there aren't already enough young people in superhero movies so X-Men was a nice contrast to that. The whole point of Xavier is that he isn't a physical Batman or Spiderman or whatever but sits in a wheelchair ... and now a babyface (with hair!) plays him. Pfui. |

And it's such a shame because Wolverine was once my favorite Marvel character and they just had to run him into the ground. I understand why they did it and have to give credit to whoever decided to put him on the back burner this time.

Quote:
Wolverine, Xavier and Magneto films were originally meant to be part of that but obviously so far only X-Men: Wolverine has been produced to date and that's getting a sequel (which, weirdly seems to be a stand alone sequel not directly connected to the X-Men universe according to it's director Darren Aronofsky. I don't quite get what he means by that but it might become clear soon enough) next year. I wonder if the poorer box-office and reception of Wolverine (though obviously not being bad enough to prevent said sequel) made them rethink the idea of multiple movie strands and go back to the idea of First Class, which has been around for a few years as well. I'm curious what kind of job they'll do at tying it into the 'original' trilogy from 2000-2006. Obviously, from the trailers they are giving the comic book uniforms a closer go at least!
