My normal is the everyday experience. Everyone has a different sense of normal. My sense of normal changes all the time. I used to work at the zoo. Seeing gorillas, kangaroos, flamingos, peacocks and meerkats everyday was my normal.

Saquist-

Did I see an appolgy in there??? I am impressed, takes a big person to appologize.

Well sir, anyone who is told no matter what the cause, that their lives are "immoral" are going to take it personally.

Imagine how you would feel if it was you that was being told that. I doubt you'd "happy and chipper" about it.

I don't think you meant deliberate harm. But your words did hurt alot of people, as well intentioned as you may have thought them to be.

You have evey right to your opinon, no dispute there at all. But if I were you, I would think a little more about how I worded my opinons.

But that aside, I again applaud you for being adult enough to appologize.

Welcome back!

**Side note-Normal is a misnomer, normal is whatever you choose it to be.

I don't really have emotions like the rest of you do. My make up is different. I identify with vulcans because of that. I don't really feel anything when someone states an opinion about me. I go into defense but I don't go on the attack. I prefer a defensive posture even in physical combat.

I prefer logic because it is accurate not perceptional.
yet even Logic must give way to sensitivity

Sensitivity is an emotion Saquist. Nuture it, it shall grow.

There are those who say defense is an attack.

Logic can be acccurate, but logic is nothing without emotion, even Spock admitted that.

I only use Defense as a state of readiness.
A pychiatrist would call defense for attack "Passive agressive"

"What's normal? Well, that's a good question. Normal is what everyone else is and you are not." Wise words from Dr. Soren. Well actually he was insane but that popped into my head when I read the short exchange of 'what is normal' posts.

There is no normal. Only what is socially acceptable at the time.

Conversation wise.... "normally I would do this or that" "normally I wouldn't jump into the tiger exhibit to give it a hug" :P Although I'd really love to!

Mathmatically, normal to me is an average, or central tendency of a data set refers to a measure of the "middle" or "expected" value of the data set. The data set chenges from context to context.

People shouldn't be so literal with the word "normal". People treat the word as something offensive... I used to hang out with all these "artists, out of the box thinkers" they think that they are so "not-normal". Art schools... you have to deal with it. Actually there are so many "not-normal" people who think they are so special so superior, they've become an average.

"I don't like this, I don't do that, that's stupid that you even like them or that" Loosen up!!! Can be quite irritating when you are forced to have classes, group projects, presentations and critiques with these people.
