Default Star Trek VS Star Wars

Here is my question. It seems like in fan's minds that these two worlds can not be equally as great, even though both are awesome for each of there own reasons.

So I want to know what do you like better Star Trek or Star Wars, and I want to know why. I have my reason for both, but I would like to hear from people here.

I like Trek better because it's not Fluff with special effects. It trys to make a pass as intellectualness...

I don't care for any of Star Wars New Episodes...the stories were very bad...
The old ones were frankly better than anything STar Trek had.

I like both, it's hard to pick one, they're so different. Lots of people try to compare them, but I don't really think they can be compared, other than the fact they're scifi. One is about fantasy, a hero's journey, magic, good, evil, the other is about discovery, humanity, exploration, science and sometimes faith.

Star Trek is more or less about humanity in three hundred years, Starwars is more like mythology to me, archetypes, I just can't really compare them so I've always tried to keep them separate, but I do love both.

Star Trek and Star Wars are two totally different franchises with two totally different visions and purposes. I like them both, but I don't compare them. To me, it is like comparing apples and oranges.

Star Trek has 5 different series, and 10 movies, (11th in the making) Star Wars has 6 movies....that's it...and Star Wars just can't be compared to Star Trek. Star Wars is a classic story of the fight between good and evil, Star Trek explores that and so much more, if u've seen all of the episodes u know that they just can't be compared...

Me, I like Trek better cause it gives me hope for the future. Star Wars just makes me want to smooch Harrison Ford.
