I saw the Akira name in the Fact Files before I saw the ship on screen. And yes, I immediately saw the extreme similarities (just look at the two connecting struts).

OK, point taken. More casual viewers like me who didn't consume any background material have never noticed the Akira (and I have seen FC several times).

Thats because Starfleet didnt do enough of all those 'Patroll Missions', that are boring like hell but give ships and crews XP points. And because most of those young hot shot captains usually forgett to go to their skills menue regularely to level up.

I can't even help my dad shop for his third DVD player without once again hearing his endless "they don't make things to last like they used to" rants.
