Default I will not see this movie at all.

I'm not happy about Paramount changing the date of "Star Trek" from Christmas 2008 to May 8, 2009 just because it should have a better chance as a summer blockbuster. So, as a result, I will boycott this movie, and there's nothing you can say to convince me otherwise.

Well I think if you'd rather see it come out earlier and do less well you can't be much of a fan. I think we are all hoping this movie does as well as it possibly can, and if certain strategic decisions have to be made to that end, then we will live with them.

I think it may have had more to do with the writer's strike problems, but that's just me

I say never boycott anything you haven't seen/done before(in most cases)

WAA! WAA! WAA!

And it is because of people like you that cause the very downfall of things they claim to love.

If you're a fan, then you'll want to support this film and the hard work JJ and crew are putting into it...not to mention their passion and desire to see Trek live again. You should never blame the filmmaker for something the studio did. Even JJ stated he liked the original opening date, but as he works for the studio, he would get behind their decision to move it.

Why must things like this be so black and white? If such a small thing causes you to no longer support Trek, then, well...I guess you aren't much of a fan after all. Now if you went and saw the film and had some personal issues with it...then that's different. But to boycott the film for such an ignorant reason? Please.

My two cents (at a penny a word) is a resounding ''so what.''

If the self proclaimed ''purist'' James Cawley can change his tune, so can someone with a heck of a lot less invested.

This will wear off most likely and you'll be in line just like the rest -- however -- if I'm wrong...

Good to know there will be one more empty seat available for someone.

That's not a very good reason to miss a movie now is it?

Especially when there are so many perfectly good reasons for a boycott. Come back with one of those reasons and you'll get yourself some supporters.

Could you explain why the release date matters to you?
