I wish that more towns had places for viewing classic movies, at least for short runs. No matter how good a 60+" flat screen HD television is, there is just no replacing the experience of going to a movie. Seeing directors cuts of movies in that forum would be great!
TWOK still is the best ST movie in my opinion!
It would be great to see it on the movie screen again along with many other classic movies.

This is just a Friday nights during the summer event. I don't know how many years they have been doing this as this is the first I've heard of it. It's neat though and a nice free evening out. All the movies they are playing came out last year and I think they use one of those blowup screens a projector and some speakers in the middle of Downsview Park under the night sky so it's probably pretty inexpensive to host. Toronto has several rerun theaters where they mostly play recently out of theater films and sometimes older films, for example The Fox Theater that I posted about their Wrath of Khan screening, Bloor Cinema, Revue Cinema, The Royal, etc.

Wrath of Khan and Voyage Home are the only Trek flix I never got to catch on the big screen. (Voyage Home I could do without...but would catch it if given the opportunity.)

But I hope my local multiplex someday manages to get a big screen showing of TWOK. I would be most happy.

Why do these showings only happen in the US or Canada? It's not like it's next door!!

America, I think I remember this from the history books, wasn't it once a British colony? Probably all savages again now that the Brits aren't there anymore.

I think that this would be a nice thread, ethnical and national clichées. I am gonna eat some Sauerkraut and a Weisswurst now.

I would have some Whiskey, but as it happens I'm already half cut from drinking it already all day.

I'll have some Haggis and pop 'Brigadoon' into the DVD player.......(hic)........(hic).........

Well, I'm gonna have some Jack and Coke, and maybe a Jagerbomb or two, and pop on a couple of episodes of 24, followed up by a rousing finish with RAMBO!
