Cool

It's pretty likely if st.com hadn't been dormant, this site wouldn't have existed at all.

And if the schedule for the relaunch of st.com is correct, this site may only have four weeks of life left.

Any promo for the next movie is supposedly going to be handled through startrek.com.

I can't wait for the redesigned st.com! It was a total waste shuttering it to begin with!

Cool

Hopefully the dictator on the message boards will be relieved before there's no community left to go along with the new site...

There was also three years (2005 - 2008) of no new major Star Trek whatsoever in that period of decline.

A long time when there's not much happening. As this site has also demonstrated.

The old staff always kept the site up to the minute with cast news, product news, etc. When they were dumped by (at the time) CBS Digital in December 2007, that was when the site started to decay.

Yeah, I only really had anything to do with the forums in the summer of 2006. I didn't really experience the shut down firsthand, just read about it on Trekmovie and elsewhere.

One of the biggest mistakes CBS made was dismissing the startrek.com staff...they built and ran the site like they loved it...because they DID love it.

I like the quiet here, there is still the occasional new thread posted..if this which is fine by me because I just can't be on here every day. If this forum does only have a few weeks of life left though I might want to search out some of my most favourite quality threads to archive...like all the amazing picture threads.

It would indeed be a shame for some of those threads to be lost.
