Ah, the good old days when Yoda was still a puppet and Vader wasn't a whiny teenager.

I fall into a camp that prefers Star Wars and Return of the Jedi to Empire, but I can watch 'em all and enjoy every second nonetheless.
Different story for the prequels, where I can watch bits & pieces of Phantom Menace and completely enjoy Revenge of the Sith. I could go without watching Attack of the Clones for the rest of my life honestly.

I find all six of the films to be classics (with the possible exception of Episode II, which even still is watchable IMO), but I prefer Return of the Jedi to all of them, because it was the first one I saw (I saw it at age 3, the same time I was introduced to Star Trek through TNG). I list them in this order from top to bottom, best to worst:

RETURN OF THE JEDI
REVENGE OF THE SITH
THE PHANTOM MENACE
A NEW HOPE
THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
ATTACK OF THE CLONES

My list goes:

Star Wars
Return of the Jedi
Empire Strikes Back
Revenge of the Sith
Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones

Revenge of the Sith and Empire Strikes Back are basically tied and interchangeable.

Someone's first exposure to a given aspect of a franchise will likely be the best it's ever been for them.

For many, the original Star Wars is still the best of the six, because of its simple story, and its high action/adventure content.

For me, it goes thus:

Revenge of the Sith
The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars
Return of the Jedi
The Clone Wars (yes, the CGI movie that Warner Bros. Animation released)
Attack of the Clones
The Phantom Menace

We're doing this again?

The Empire Striketh Backeth
Star Wars
Return of the Jedi
Attack of the Clones
The Phantom Menace
Revenge of the Sith

(To be fair, I've only actually seen Sith once. By that point I was fairly disillusioned with the prequel trilogy in general. So I could be like the Academy when they realized it was their last chance to award Lord of the Rings. In other words, maybe I'm giving Sith the golden raspberry on account of the whole trilogy. They had one last chance to set things right and they bungled it.)

My Dad, Mom, and Brother are all living proof of this statement, as they all prefer the original STAR WARS to anything that came after. As a matter of fact, I think my entire family's list would go in descending chronological order from best to worst.
