I enjoyed the story but just felt that it was a bit basic - something I would have enjoyed as a child but as an adult one shot stories never have enough bite for my taste. I hope the subsequent stories run over two or three issues or we'll end up with plot devices that we've all seen hundreds of times before. I also think if he had a few more personnel on his medical team it would give the writers more to work with.

However, I love the TMP era and Bones is always good value. I still want them to revisit the Phase II 5-year mission again - the eighties series was fun (although sometimes silly) and the more recent lost voyages was good, albeit too brief and involving one-shot stories again.
