True, but you could have made his loss and pain more understandable. One scene with Nero and his wife and memories of his wife flashing when the Narada gets destroyed could have given Nero a lot more depth already.

To be honest, even without such a scene that was what I took him to be doing when he closed his eyes as the ship was breaking up.

Closing his mind to what was happening and focusing on her. Maybe a scene of some description could have made it explicit.....but that was how I took it, as I say.

What if Khan does come in the NuTrek universe how would it be story wise?

In theory he already is in the NuTrek universe, since the Botany Bay set out long before the divergence.

How he would come into it - I don't know.

I would love to see new stories, to boldly go where no man or woman has gone before so Orci and Kurtzman don't think of Khan for the sequel.

Yeah Nero didn't have much depth and sadly there wasn't much time to give him some, I agree though that a scene showing his pain may have helped somewhat. To be honest the only new villain in the films that was effective was Chang (excluding the Borg Queen as it was suggested that her and Picard had interacted during BOBW so wasn't truly new to the crew and audience in that respect).

And since nuTrek has no real background leading up to the films it would be difficult to produce a really good villain who doesn't have any history with the crew that would match up to good villains we've seen in previous films. We've seen the results of trying to create villains off the cuff with the likes of Soren and Ruafo who are arguably the poorer of the movie villains.

Personally I would like to see a villain more in the guise of V'Ger as in a palpable threat that's wondrous and totally alien at the same time.

They can definitely do whatever they want and I can choose not to pay to see it.
