Default HDTV help

So I bought a new TV last week. A 26 inch, since that's about as large as I can go with my current living situation. It also pretty much resolves the whole LCD/LED/Plasma debate.

Did the research; the Sony 'BRAVIA' KDL-26L5000 LCD seemed like the best TV within the $500 range.

Reviewers didn't seem to think the green tinge in the color was a big enough issue compared to the overall quality performance. Except, I'm now thinking maybe it sort of is. At least with most of the movies in the Star Trek I-IV BluRay set.

If I returned the Sony, I would probably trade it for the Samsung LN26B460. Which has not gotten as consistently great reviews, and is said to be back-heavy (careful when moving). It also supposedly offers less of a viewing angle than the Sony (not a deal-breaker by any means... for the Sony was actually quite good in that regard compared to most of what I saw on display)

Naturally I'm reluctant to return what I have unless doing so would definitely fix my color issues. I wouldn't want to risk ending up with something that performs even less to my satisfaction. I might be better off sticking with what I have (you think?).

Does anyone have experience with either of these two great machines, or can suggest any other alternatives? Any thoughts, advice, opinions or predjudices would be much appreciated.

Wow, green tinge. I don't like the sound of that. I don't own a flat screen TV as yet so I'm interested to hear what comments are going to come here. I probably will be purchasing one this year. Of course I've said the same thing for the past two years.

I bought my parents a Panasonic Viera 42" plasma screen Christmas of '08. I'm extremely impressed with it. It was on sale for $600 which was a great price back then for a screen that size. I think that was due the bad rep plasma screens have (or had). We've been pretty impressed with it.

This year, one for my house.

Unfortunately I haven't used the Samsung you are looking at but I bought a 50" Panasonic Viera plasma. Plasma unfortunately did get a bad rep because of some of the problems the early plasma screens had but the new ones are great. The only problem is plasmas are more expensive to produce so that along with people not buying due to the rep has caused a lot companies to lower their production of the technology. Though you can find some great deals like "That Metal Beastie" found for his parents. I love my plasma screen and I think the colour on it is better then any LCD I've seen yet.

+1
I'm no expert, but my wonderful wife got me one of these for Christmas and we LOVE IT! If they come in smaller sizes, then it that's what I'd recommend.

We have a sony BRAVIA KD46 inches ( -46S2010) we love it. We have HD DIrect TV, our x-box and Blue ray palyer and we don't see any problems with color. Sony is the best in out book. Maybe it is that model or the one you got that has a issue. All the stuff I ever bought Sony have lasted me for ever it seems as well as panasonic products.
