Best Star Trek episode that I never get tired of watching, whether it's the original or remastered version. The story stands the test of time.

What would of happened between kirk and edith didnt they couldnt return to the future?,married with a couple of kids?.

Perhaps, but their happiness would have come to a quick end once Hitler would have taken over the world.
It was bittersweet irony that people from a more peaceful future have to let a pacifist who dreams about this very future die in order to save it.

But what if instead of letting her die they just took her to the future with them. That still would have removed her from history.

I guess he had thought of that by the time of Gillian!

Probably would have been a less than powerful ending though.

Falling in love while being stranded in the early 20th century is one thing, anticipating your return home and thinking about your great single life at home is another.

No Spock, we can't take her with us. It would create ... complications.
