I remember when Dateline NBC used actual TNG LCARS graphics (a.k.a. "Okudagrams") as part of their set for many years. Ann Curry and Stone Phillips looked like they were standing in the Enterprise's stellar cartography lab at times...

Well, all we know is that he has, like Reagan, watched a Trek movie. And Reagan's comment, that Klingons reminded him of Congress was more funny and memorable than Obama's standard 'Trek in the sixties was ahead of its time' stuff.
All the "Obama is a Vulcan" stuff is just idolizing nonsense. People are elected to do a job, not to be demonized or idolized.

About these radio folks, I couldn't care less about populists but that's not the issue here. It's just some Trek trivia and I think everyone of us has a reason to rejoice when Trek is present in everyday life, no matter in which form.
