Default ST:XI warp drive FX

Hello all, new to the forum here but very excited/curious about the upcoming movie. Wouldn't exactly classify myself as a die-hard "trekkie", but have enjoyed Trek,(in all of it's variations/spinoffs) since the TOS first aired in 1966! I hope that JJ Abrahms can come up with interesting "warp" effects", something that maybe hasn't been seen before or a variation of what's already been done- I know in the TOS,(due to 60's FX technology), there really wasn't much in the way of showing the Enterprise,(or any starship) leap into warp in a spectacular fashion. Any thoughts on what we might see in the upcoming flick? Thanx

Dunno, really, so long as we don't see the stretching effect from TNG. I'd like to see something that conveys real power and energy. Like the warp shots used in the motion picture.

I think that would do nicely. Also not a fan of the stretching effect done from TNG on. The movie effect in the first movies was more believable and cool looking.

I always thought that the TNG warp effect as viewed from Ten Forward was far better than the "stretching" effect in the opening credits.

The Phoenix had a fast effect like the 1701-D and -E, also the NX-01 had the same fast effect. The 1701-A and BoP in the Kirk movies were fast as well. Why the TMP 1701 had such a slow and much different effect, can not be explained technically.

I really don't want to see anything too special...just something quick and intresting....no flash.
