So get this:

I told my wife I didn't want anything for Chanukah, and then immediately order for myself a new iPod and a Richard Coyle ST-III phaser off of Rod.com. The iPod comes, I plug it into my computer, and it causes a massive system error everytime. So after 2 hours on tech support, they agree to exchange it. New one comes, same thing happens. After 2 hours each on tech support with both Dell and Apple, their first best solution is that I should buy a Mac computer because something on my current Latitude is not compatable with the device. The Apple engineers offered to get a memory dump from my laptop to see where the block was but it turned out to be too much, so I went with option 3: screw the iPod until I really need a new computer.

Next, the phaser arrives (late for Chanukah because of a server glitch on their end). The damn thing has a defective speaker. I got farther with them online and they offered to exchange it gladly. After spending $100.00 on FedEx so that they'd get it ASAP and I'd get a new one ASAP, I find out that from 12/22-1/4/2010, the whole Rod.com operation decides to close down for the holiday season, so my replacement won't be processed until into the New Year. So here I am with zilcho and $600.00 in the hole to boot. THAT'S what I got for Chanukah.

Maybe I'd have better luck if converted?

If you had told her you wanted that stuff, it could have been her fault for all the fallout (female logic works like that, you know).

It's an Apple conspiracy to discredit PC's.

As for the conversion thing....well....I'm reminded of a Benny Hill joke. (No disrespect intended....it certainly was just a joke and gave me a good laugh.)

"Roses are reddish, Violets are blu-ish
If it wasn't for Christmas, we'd all be Jewish."

Hope you had a great Chaunukah, despite those annoyances, vuedoc.
