Default Which Songs defined the decade of 2000?

http://www.theboombox.com/2009/12/09...of-the-decade/

Surprised? Of course, this is just popular music.

Billboard named trekkie Taylor Swift as artist of the year for 2009, and Wiki lists her album Fearless, as the top-selling album of 2009.

Wow! That's really hard to pick. I've bought some amazing albums over the last decade. I think songs by decent bands like The Killers, Snow Patrol, Kaiser Chiefs, The Feeling, Keane, Coldplay, etc etc etc. Decent girl singers like Katy Perry, Lily Allen, Duffy and reality show stars who were actually talented like Kelly Clarkson and Leona Lewis. But I can't think of any specific songs. 10 years is a long time

The link is an article about Eminem being the best selling artist of the decade, not songs that defined the decade. I'm confused?

What's to be confused about? Best-selling music of the decade=songs that defined the decade, a simple equation.

I suppose Eminem doesn't surprise me, he really was all over the place this decade.

Eminem may have been a major artist of the decade but nothing he's done qualifies as a contender for song of the decade.

I think a song of the decade is hard to define. I mean things have changed greatly over the last 10 years

The first 3 things I thought of were from the 90's...

I find it to be one of those things that would rarely find common agreement anyway.

If Eminem is the artist of the decade, of course, some of his songs define the decade. I said 'songs' not song, there is no such thing as a song of the decade.
