I kinda liked the first Twilight movie...even though it was very slow...on top of that Vampires aren't very fresh. ![]() I really want a movie that is NOT a remake, reboot, re-imagining, adaptation of a book, comic, TV series, fairytale or an old classic film. ![]() Yeah...I'm gonna have a really long wait...I know... ![]()

I'd give him the kudos for getting rid of the gaudy Joel Schumacher efforts but he kinda took a lot of his tonal inspiration from existing Batman incarnations. The Star Trek reboot is really decent enough. But as it's still starting out it inevitably doesn't have the breadth and depth that it's 43 year predecessor was able to amass. It needs time to continue to develop itself (as TOS did) and no-one really knows how much time it will get in that regard.

Twilight was pretty good. I've actually seen both. I don't particularly like some aspects of vampires as envisioned in the series (particularly the fact that sunlight makes the all sparkly-glowy - that's just stupid). But for the most part, it's not bad.
I'm a Batman fan, but not a huge one, so the Nolan reboot didn't bother me much. I thought both movies were great. Much better than the last couple of Batman movies. But I'm not hung up on the fact that Two-Face died or anything like that because I'm not a die-hard Batman fan. Star Trek XI, on the other hand, well...you know me well enough by now. ![]() |

I don't think you know how important this movie is what it means to the franchise

Indeed. Nolan is for Batman what Meyer was for Trek. Abrams on the other hand ... I better don't make any comparisons.
