Default Give me an episode...

...That you like. But whenever you mention it to friends/fellow fans, they roll there eyes.

So nothing on the Top Ten/100 fan favourite/worst lists.

But the episode that you, you know - "get", whereas others don't quite see the appeal of it.

Then I'm gonna watch them.

Dramatis Personae, I like it. It's presenting the characters with a twist. Quark in the neck brace is funny. I love Sisko's line. "It's a clock!" I remember whenever I was doing something after that episode and they ask me what it is. I'd use that line.

Hated a lot but I quite enjoyed Profit and Lace, so random but quite funny too.

Take Me Out To The Holosuite. It's utter genius - great dialogue, some fantastic character moments, good comedy, and better yet, a great examination of what 'team spirit' is really all about. Just a great feelgood 45 minutes.

I'd say most of DS9 I completely understood. People would moan about it being on a station and various things.

And I was like, the changing dynamic, situations and character interplay, kept it all fresh because you never knew exactly where you where from week to week, even though you were in the same place.

I loved the Ferengi episodes, yet I hear a lot of people just hate the Ferengi, but I just loved this mini-saga within a saga, and there were a number of story threads like that.

I think their was maybe a handful of Kira episodes that I wasn't keen on, when she got kidnapped by some scarred Cardassian, and her resistance friends died. Also, her Cardassian adopted "father" died in one, I wasn't keen on that but loved the episode for it's emotional impact.

All the episodes you folks are mentioning are on my favourite list in one way or another.

I think it was actually really great that the Ferengi race and people had a whole arc that played out over the entire seven years of the show. They were developed and you could see the changes.

So, on that level it's another reason I rate DS9 so highly.

Then again, I don't really like the Ferengi and usually skip the latter Ferengi shows!!

I find it all depends whether your in the mood for them, if your not in a Ferengi mood then they won't appeal. Same with some of the Mirror Universe episodes, sometimes I will skip them just because I'm not that in the mood for them.

What I liked about the Ferengi on DS9 was that they took this failed villain and rather than just discard them out of hand, they embraced them and made them an integral part of the universe.

The spin-off shows tended to do that, take one part the previous show had introduced and run with it. TNG took the Klingons from the Original, DS9 the Ferengi(+others), Voyager the Holograms, and I was going to say that Enterprise came back to the Vulcans, but really I think the Andorians were more of a highlight with that show.

Quark is one of my favorite characters of the entire franchise.
